November 2023 Monthly update: fail fast, learn quick. Testing a new idea.

What happened last month?

After I stopped working on Languive, my friend asked me to help him develop the app he was working on.
The app is called WorkoutBuddy and it’s a personal trainer powered by AI (who would have guessed?).

We shared the responsibilities. My friend (a really experienced developer) was coding and I was focused on testing and promoting the app to validate the idea.

I started by exploring this market. I compared our app with the competition and checked how they are promoting their products.
Based on that research, I created landing page and two blogposts with comparing our app with the two biggest competitors on the Polish market. You can have a look at it here.

This time, my goal was to reach to the potential users as quick as possible and get their opinion on our beta version. Thankfully I was on multiple events last month that was a really good opportunity to made a interviews with few people interested in the app.

Results? I talked with 5 potential users. None of them was impressed by our product…
The main feature which is AI training plan generator didn’t work properly at all. Everyone got bizarre outcome.

Turns out we didn’t test it enough. When we tried to fix it, we found that the AI API was not robust. Without AI our app wasn’t a really big thing. Therefore, we decided not to continue the project.

What’s next?

As always, there’s a new thing on the horizon. This time I decided to have a break from developing another app. Over the last two weeks, my friend and I started creating content for an online course for people who want to find a job in IT (not only as a coders). Nothing more to say at this time. We saw the demand in the market and will try to create a product tailored to people’s needs.
We plan to finish it by the end of the year. I will present sales statistics here.
